The evolution of emerging technologies
The evolution of emerging technologies in the world has led to notable changes in various sectors of society, including education. The effect of these technologies in education cannot be overlooked. The education sector is profoundly affected by the development of various technologies that warrant the modification of teaching and learning to accommodate them. Education is gradually adapting to the use of emerging development in the classroom, thus changing the façades of the inclusive learning and teaching process, the nature of classes, methods of teaching, student engagement, presentation of content, and assessment. They have further inspired stakeholders in the education system to integrate learning in the classroom and these technologies. The integration of these technologies in the classroom has now become a necessity, as educators continue to understand their importance. Notably, recent advances in emerging digital technologies have enabled the development of e-learning and overall flexibility in learning. The adoption of such technologies has not only helped expand the classroom capabilities but also improved the presentation of content. However, the use of these emerging technologies in the classroom does not mean that instruction and learning become simplified but improves the whole process. The emerging technologies require that teachers and students familiarize themselves before incorporating them into the learning process. Artificial intelligence (AI) is an example of emerging technologies that will change the presentation of education. Still, teachers and students will have to learn extensively to integrate them into the education system successfully. As technology continues to develop, the education system has developed strategies to incorporate technology in the learning and teaching process. Nevertheless, despite the positive impacts of the integration of emerging technologies in the education sector, there are notable disparities between the integration and application in public and private schools.
