The Fitness Growth Summit
All right. Welcome back to The Fitness Growth Summit. We’re here joined by Cody Neer, the e-commerce specialists, and Cody. We were just talking in the break here for a second. You’re like, “Hey man, Tim, I really need to make sure people understand the opportunity right now for e-commerce is giant.” Why is that?
– Yeah, so coming into this, I put together some stats and, and really wanna research and understand where the opportunity lies with e-commerce and the fitness industry. So the global industry itself has grown almost 3% in year over year since 2015. It’s almost a $90 billion a year industry, however, with 160, some odd million different clubs around the entire world. So this isn’t just United States, Canada or North America folks. This is the entire world. So when you drill down on who are the consumers of this industry, it’s really heavily in the Millennial and the Gen Z.
And as you look at those two pieces of groups of people, they are heavily online. They purchased almost all of their purchases come online; almost all of the services they render online. They’re the Airbnbs and the Uber’s drivers. And they’re jumping on all these apps and stuff. They’re that people are consumers of online services and businesses. So that’s compared to less than half are in the Boomer, the oldest. So right now, the generations that we have coming up are more apt to wanna do online stuff. They’re more willing to pay for your services and your products online. So when you tap into their interest, and then you tap into where they already congregate, which is social media on the internet, it’s right for the picking for everyone right now in e-commerce.
– Nice. I love it. I love it. And you’re absolutely right. I mean, it only makes sense that the younger generations, they grew up with the internet from day one. I remember, I mean, I’m older than you. I remember when it was dial-up. And before that, I mean, it was just, it was like chat groups and stuff like that. Now it’s just a way of life if you’re not there, when they’re ready to buy, you’re gonna miss the opportunity. So great point to that. So let’s get into the weeds a little bit. I mean people that watch the free session, they’re probably like cool. I think it’s a great idea. I figured there’s stuff I need to know. Let’s get into a little bit of the tactical stuff as far as what kind of software does somebody need to get started with on e-commerce?
– So software piecewise, you’re gonna have to have an online portal point of sale system. And the two that most people use that are most apt to be able to integrate and create an awesome e-commerce experience are gonna be Shopify and or WordPress with WooCommerce. And most of the guys already have a site probably on WordPress. And you’ve probably never heard of Shopify, but you can get one of those two pieces to insert your e-commerce business onto everything that we talked about before is going to easily integrate into those two pieces.
– So it acts as almost like a storefront. Here’s my story. Here’s my product. And you’ve seen e-commerce stores your whole life. You just maybe not have noticed what they were at the time, but this is what Cody’s talking about. How tech-savvy, does somebody have to be on Shopify?
– Not at all. So Shopify has themes, tutorials, videos, how-tos, it’s very intuitive. And within a matter of an hour, you can have your store built, and you can have it plugged in and ready to launch to the whole entire world.
– Boom. Okay, so you can build it. So now if you build it, they will come. That’s obviously not the truth with this. We’ll talk about marketing in a second. But before we do that, you mentioned in the free session, there’s companies out there that do fulfillment, dropshipping. You don’t have to hold inventory on this stuff. You just need to be the “middleman.” You’re the marketer in the sales, I guess, portal. And then, then what happens from there, and who should they look at?
– So supplement wise, there are what they call white label dropship supplement companies. Now, these are the exact same supplements that you’re gonna buy your GNC, your complete nutrition, you’re all these supplements. They’re exact same products. If you look at the ingredients, it’s the exact same ingredients. Now what they do for you is they allow you to put your label on it, your branding, your stamp per se. And then you can put your products inside a bottle or package or a scoop or whatever it may be with your branding on it. And they’ll white label it. Now, when you sell it on your store, what they’ll do is they’ll actually make it, but the label on it and ship it to your customer for you. It’s what I talked about, “Dropship.” And there’s a ton of them out there. A couple of my favorites are #Fulfillment and then fulfillment.com.
And I’ve got a list of, of these. Obviously, we can share, but both of these companies will actually walk you through step by step. How do I create my label? Here. How do I create my product line? Here. How do I know which products to sell? Here, look at your demographics of your gym and know what kind of people are going to buy. They walk you through step by step. They’re there in the business of doing exactly this, creating an online white label supplement brand for business. The truth is almost every supplement brand out there is “White libel.” There’s just big plants. Manufacturing plants have all these ingredients out there. And they’re just making these products with different labels on them all the time. So you’re just gonna insert yourself and create your own brand. And right now, the supplement industry is on fire.
– Yeah, people are very health-conscious right now, especially with the current situation. What would you say to those folks, and you are one of them that we’re really concerned about the quality of the supplement. Like if it’s, we usually turn people away from going to say a GNC or these other places because we don’t really trust them ourselves, and then by default, we’re going to like products like Thorne and these ones that are… Oh God, what’s that that a supplement a third party? I don’t know. I’ll look it up, but there’s a third party seal that you gotta get that it’s really expensive, but they’re basically a third party that verifies what’s in the bottles on the label and vice versa. What would you say to folks like that? Not worry about it, or like, “Hey, there’s-
– Twofold. So it a twofold. Obviously, you’re gonna make a brand around yourself, and you’ll sell it to your customers. You wanna make sure what they’re consuming is top quality. The truth is these manufacturing plants that you’re gonna work with that did these dropshipping have the highest quality. And they have a laundry list of clients and customers that they make products for. And they actually back insurance. They actually cover product default. They cover to a T. It’s their product.
Okay, they’re the manufacturer. You are the seller, essentially, the distributor. So they’re 100% back to products that show exact ingredients. They’re verified. They’ll show you their testing. They will give you all the proof and the doctor’s notes that go along with it. Certainly, you can tap into some of those pre-workout post-workout type of things where they’re not quite there testing wise and hey, if that’s your world, you want to live in, they’re certainly there to help you push the envelope on that side of it. But most of the time, these companies are doing high quality, quality checks. They’re manufactured, maiden States sourcing from high quality places. And they’re pretty good businesses.
– Okay, so not something to worry about, obviously do your research. If we’re gonna go to #Fulfillment or fulfillment.com, it sounds like this is what they do.
And they’re already supplying to the brand you probably already had taken. So you’re just getting in line. I love it. I love getting in line, and you’re bringing the customers to them, which is what they want. So that’s awesome, man. So that’s supplements. What about equipment company? Here says you got a list of like five or six I’ve never even heard of that are supplying actual equipment.
– Yeah. So being gym owners, we go, and we go buy the Precor. And then we got all these high quality brands that we wanna put in our gyms. The reality is these drop ship companies are making the same products, but they do the same functionality and everything. They get manufactured. And what they do specifically is to sell the same type of product, the same piece of equipment, but they want those retailers specifically, but they can’t, they’re not gonna sell name brand products, they have to be able to sell at scale, and they have to be able to go across multiple platforms, multiple people, multiple online stores. So it’s really hard to say, “I’m gonna take one brand and go sell it across multiple stores” So they have to have what they call a white label, private label to gain equipment, same exact equipment that we buy and put in our gym. Manufactured probably in the same infection plants. And they give these distributors, these big centers and they create what they call aggregates. These aggregates basically put together, here’s all the distribution centers. Here’s the products they have inside of them. The piece of equipment, here’s where you go. There’s one distributor where you can get access to these pieces of equipment. And then you get access to these, this list of, of equipment suppliers, and you just plug them into your e-commerce store when they sell, it goes to the aggregate, sends it to the manufacturing plant, the supplier, the distributor, and then they ship it to your customer.
Again, just like dropshipping on every other model. There’s a few on this list. So I put together a list that are all around the States and all around the world. For that matter, there’s, all over these, these equipment brands are all over the world. So this isn’t just a, again, a North America based thing. If you wanna sell around the world, you can do that. But there’s m-Brace.com, which they’re gonna do your back support braces and accessories and whatnot. This is fitness, their health wellness. They will dropship and private label manufacturer products for you. BodiRocker is out of California. That’s B-O-D-I Rocker.com. They have amazing affiliate program, tons of products. They’ve got all sorts of training systems and accessories that you can sell. You’ve got Helio Health.
They’re out of Akron, Ohio. It’s Helio, H-E-L-I-O Health.Com. Again, another great affiliate program dropship program. They do therapeutic and health accessories. Then you get into the actual equipment pieces. You got aqquatixusa.com, and there are aquatic therapy and exercise equipment. So big niche, big market right there. They’re out of Miami, Florida, got Deltech Fitness, D-E-L-T-E-C-H fitness.com. They’ll drop ship for you. The right go from Kentucky. They do your benches, your machines, your dumbbells, your racks, your exercise, benches, Dean’s power squats, the whole nine yards. They have all the weight stuff that you can possibly sell, dropship directly to your customers. Then you’ve got yourfitnesssystems.co.uk, which is a UK based brand. If you’re in Europe, they’ll get your medicine balls, weighted balls, club, weight racks, all sorts of different cable bars and whatnot.
