The global environment’s current political economy.
The wonders of nature have been a significant part of me all through my lifetime. I envy the interrelation of human beings and nature and how all these aspects come together to bring biodiversity. This passion for the environmental balance is the primary influence towards grouping myself in the bio environmentalists’ category in the global environment’s political economy. Besides, I concur with the worldviews presented from other global bio environmentalists concerning the global environment’s current political economy.
I concur with the global sentiments that the current state of global warming is headed for a peril more than prosperity. Most people disregard the ideologies by other bio environmentalists that the earth might slowly diminish beyond the horizon. It is even absurd to find someone fascinated by the fact that the sun’s size is increasing at an alarming rate that in seven to eight billion years, it would engulf the earth. This effect is due to what many would term minor disasters covering the world, such as deforestation, pollution, and biodiversity loss. These environmental degraders have been the cause of major global calamities that have claimed millions of lives globally. The effect of the unbearable sun-heat is starvation. However, who is to blame? The same humans that are expected to face the wrath of nature have caused the trouble themselves.
Moreover, the bio environmentalists’ sentiments on the effects of globalization on the environmental conditions are valid. Globalization has been celebrated in the recent world, with its effects being felt in the global economy. The economy has been on the rise due to globalization; however, biodiversity has been severely affected. Contrary to the market liberals and institutionalists who reap positive results from globalization, bio environmentalists predict severe ecological devastation due to globalization. They foresee a world of failure in the coming years, and a state of crisis is expected to cover the biodiversity as a result of globalization. These severe effects can be attributed to the increase in the number of industries. This causes a ripple effect in terms of the increment of industrial emissions, which have been attributed to the ozone layer’s significant corrosives. Consequently, extreme temperatures will continue hitting the earth, causing imbalances in the biodiversity. These devastating effects accredit the validity of the claim from the bio environmentalists, which I subscribe to.
Global trade, too, has had significant devastating effects on our biodiversity. This has triggered the bio environmentalists’ opinions that despite the advantages that global trade is creating in most environments, it is bound to cause ecological imbalances in the near future. To the market liberals, global trade has had positive effects on the environment since it has enabled access to resources that would otherwise go underutilized. However, the environmental impact yet to be felt due to this global trade is more severe than the world can hold. Remember, these sources of raw materials to facilitate global trade involve excavations and mining activities. These open pits constitute a significant source of pollution to the surrounding environment. Besides, when water accumulates in those open holes, it acts as a breeding ground for disease-causing organisms.
These and many more factors outlined in the book are significant reasons that have influenced me to pick the bio environmentalists side of the argument. Besides, the bio environmentalists’ worldviews coincide with my views on the current political economy of the global environment. The world is indeed headed for devastating environmental conditions with an increase in degradation. Besides, the world is indeed incapacitated to sustain the effects that withhold. However, it is still controllable if the people adhere to the conservation measures suggested. That way, we can be on a noble mission to secure biodiversity and bring stability to the current global environment.
