Arts play an essential role in expanding the minds of students. This paper will demonstrate the essence of teaching and funding art in society and schools. Arts have the ability to enlighten the minds of people and make them critical thinkers. In the United States, arts is considered part of the culture as it can be seen in wall paintings,  graffiti, and schools. Art funding is an integral aspect in which helps organizations and schools to promote local and national talents. There are many street children and students who are talented in schools hence require government and private funding. Arts enables people to feel free and empowered.

Additionally, arts have an impact on expanding creativity in schools. Art teachers have the tasks of ensuring that schoolchildren get the necessary knowledge and artistic skills that they require to be productive in life. (Brewster, p. 189, 2017) contend that art education has the impact of creating critical thinkers in schools. It is essential to understand that the article further explains how creativity and talent are related, which proves that art education is critical for developing the minds of students. Creativity and literacy are equally important in education; therefore, it is imperative to promote arts in schools. The fact that children with mental disabilities like ADHD usually have untapped mental power and potential, which can realize through Art. Nurturing students’ creativity by promoting Art is essential to enhance the positive progress of students. Art has the capacity to be used in artistic expression in terms of emotions. People usually express their emotions through drawing and painting. Otbis6important that students Express their fears, anger, happiness, and joy through Art. It gives them the freedom to know and understand themselves.

Art can be functional in that it serves the purpose of a particular thing. An example is the decor in that people create Art so that it can be used as decor in houses or display in galleries hence serving a particular purpose.  Persuasive Art has the mandate to convince the viewer on a particular concept. An example of the Renaissance era, arts were used as a form of historical context to explain to viewers about events that took place. According to author Dunstan (2016) claims in his study that leadership and funding decisions are the main determinants for sustaining arts programs in public schools. The article further explains that it is essential that sustain viable arts programs is promoted in a school setting especially public schools so that it can improve creativity and culture in society. The basis of sufficient funding requires accountability and proper management of the funds so that the art programs do not go under. It is a fact that many community art projects tend to fail because of poor decision making and leadership that leads to misappropriation of funds in schools. Private funding helps alot of schools and organizations as people donate money for the progress of arts. In the US, there are art auctions that are informed of charity funding. Many unprivileged people are talented hence require charity funding to sponsor artwork of people.  Sharing of Art is 1important to society as it tends to showcases the talents and skills of people. The sustainability of arts needs collective management of funds so that such programs can go on supporting artistic talents. It is essential that the government funding through grants pass through local art agencies which have the experienced leadership of managing and distributing grants awarded to various community projects. Grants are one way of funding arts in that schools are given a certain amount for projects. The NEA has the aim of ensuring that distributed money is well spent on art programs and projects.

According to Edgar (2012) asserts that publicly funded art institutions are pressured to uphold certain social benefits to the community in the same way schools and hospitals are doing. The author further asks the question, But isn’t the crucial role of art to challenge the way society is run? Edgar contends that Art was seen as a leisure industry with less economic value. Preserving heritage and populism are factors that influence the government to fund Art. The author clearly explains why Art is good for education and cultural diversity. The fact is that schools have increased the number of teenagers who are better capacity in communication because of Art, and they have learned a lot about interacting with others, which promotes tolerating and respecting minorities. The importance of arts in school is to help children “understand, interpret, and adapt to the world around them.” The importance of empowering audiences is to show them the unseen concepts and elements in life. Arts makes people be an idealist in that they view and react to physical things. The national pride and community cohesion are some benefits that arts have to society hence the need for the government to continue funding. Art galleries and museums bring people together as they appreciate the work of the artists. According to Jolly (2014) reports the connection between STEM and STEAM in students’ learning. The author further explains how children who study STEM how the benefit of developing many skills that are essential for success. Teamwork and communications in STEM are considered vital learning elements that are the main focus of STEM. Besides, STEM gives students a chance to think critically for themselves and solve problems. There is a need for governments to promote STEM because of its importance in creativity and innovation, communication among students. The identification of quality STEM programs has some of the features like having motivational and engaging content that can be applied to the real world. Students are able to fully and freely integrate and apply aspects of math and science.

Authors Kisida, Greene, and Bowen (2013) emphasize that arts promote better school behaviors. Students are able to concentrate on classes since Art is an interesting subject. Art has been used as a form of entertainment in theatre and opera. It is important to note that Art comes in many forms, which shows that it has alot of diversity. Different types of arts usually have varied inspiration to viewers. Art enables people to have different views of perspective. People are able to solve problems differently, which is spearheaded by the utilization of Art. School tours to museums have the impact of helping children to solve problems and critically for themselves. Arts gives children the ability to expand their minds and view the world differently. It is essential to understand that touring to museums enables children to think freely and have their opinions. Visiting art galleries and museums increases knowledge, which makes students smarter. The fact that arts make children smart is evident as it increases their performance and interest in other subjects and views in society. The educational curriculum usually promotes Art by allowing students to go on trips to museums and art galleries. It is true that Art makes children smarter as they are able to visualize the Art and have deep meaning that is free-spirited. Learning Art is very important to students as it enabled one to identify their talents and skill set. In most developed countries, Art is a form of culture in that people interact and socialize in a different concept. The way people dress and talk so that the impacts on arts vary in everyone.

Advertising is one element in which Art is used for commercial purposes. The promotion of an idea or object in media is one of the concepts of arts. In America, arts can be funded through direct public funding, which involved budgetary allocation by the federal government. Authors Woronkowicz, Nichols, and Iyengar (2012) assert that involvement of National Endowment for the Arts( NEA) is essential in many art projects in the country, which promotes talents in states and local communities. Other findings discussed in the article are State/Regional Arts Agencies and Local art agencies. However, there is some public funding for arts, which has the main to promoting American culture. There are foundations, and private giving and Tax Incentives are various ways of funding of arts. Local arts agencies are another way that arts get their funding as they have the aim of administering grant programs. It is essential to understand that local agencies have the capability to serve as an advocate, which attracts a wide range of community resources. It has the benefit of supporting community arts and culture. Through professional development workshops for artists, it is essential that funding plays a major role in ensuring artists are marketed locally and internationally.

In conclusion, Art is important to American society as it explains the history and heritage of the American people. The public and private funding of arts enable artists to showcase their talents. There are many community and federal organizations that require federal funding as well as a private donation. The NEA has the aim of sustaining projects both on state and local communities. Other agencies that are responsible for art funding include the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), who are able to donate grants, especially to unprivileged talented children. Creativity and enlightenment among students in schools show that art lessons and programs are important from an intellectual perspective. Art as a form of beautification in homes and workplace is one of the purposes. People view art as inspiration and motivation in life. It usually portrays the meaning of life and how everything is connected. Museum trips are crucial to students as it helps them know more about their ethnic background and where they come from, including appreciating other cultures.
