The primary goal of schools
The primary goal of schools is to provide students with fundamental growth and development under the three areas of knowledge, cognitive, and mental activities. As the teachers play their roles in schools, the peers also have a great impact on fellow students since they interact in a more open social manner compared with the teachers. Some studies involving the social development of children prove the positive impact of parents, peers, and teachers in the student’s social development. Therefore, the impact of family members, teachers, and peers on the student’s social development is of extreme essence in promoting activities that enhance the social and integral development of students.
In analyzing the social developments and the influence of family, peer, and school, it is important to understand the theories that influence the social development of students. The first theory is that of commitment by John Bowlby which advocated for stronger relationships between children and their parents. According to (John Bowlby and Attachment Theory, 2006) children who were closely connected to their parents, developed respect, confidence, and independence while in school. The other theory is that of Learning by Albert Bandura, this theorist emphasized the essentialism of impacts of environment on the student’s social development where students learn traits by observation of people including peers, teachers, and parents. According to (Bandura nd) It is through the observation that students develop ideas and skills, therefore, influencing the behavior of the students as a result of the social-emotional relationship between the teachers and the students. The other theory is that of Social-cultural theory that emphasizes on the social environment of the students in acquiring cognitive functions and experiences. Moreover, (Soyer 2019) the ecological theory emphasizes the essence of the environment to child development grouping the environments to microsystems mesosystem and exosystem. According to Soyer (2019) that the student is centered in the system and the layers of the system widen as the child develops.
In conclusion, the Odd squad is one of the Tv shows that have positively impacted students by showing and solving math skills as the children venture around the world. This is essential for children to solve mathematical problems like subtraction, addition, and other math skills. Finally, social development lays a firm foundation for students and children in their lives.
