The respiratory system is subdivided into functionality areas. Whereby it is comprised of the conduction functionality zone, which ensures the movement of air in and out of the lungs and the respiratory function zone, which partakes the gaseous exchange procedure through diffusion.

The mammalian respiratory system incorporates different organs that all play essential roles during the breathing process. These organs include
Nose or the nasal cavity. It is the respiratory system’s start organ, and its primary function is to filter foreign substances from air and prevent them from reaching in the lungs. Also, the breathed air gets moisturized and warmed in the nose.
The pharynx. It acts as a connective organ of the nasal cavity that facilitates movement of air and food in the body system.
The larynx. These is the organ responsible for voice or sound production. It oversees the passage of air in its tissues to produce sound as individuals speak.
The trachea. Also identified as the windpipe is a tube like structures that connects the nasal cavity and lungs and its primary function is to move air between the nasal cavity and lungs.
The Lungs. These are a pair of organs that hold the alveoli and bronchioles and their primary function is to intake oxygen and dispose carbon dioxide as a waste product.
The Bronchi. They originate from the windpipe and are tiny tube-like structures. Their functions is to move air from the trachea up to the alveolis where gaseous exchange occurs.
