The soul music style
Soul music pioneered by Ray Charles among other famous artists, the style is like the rock and roll rhythms. Still, its uniqueness is brought out by the agonizing vocal intensity, extravagant melisma and the integration of church-rooted call and response. Using his style, Ray Charles composed and recorded his first song “Queen of Soul” which attracted many people and composers. The reasons for the souls to be my favourite style is because art encourages and give me the urge to be proud of who I am. For instance, the Brown’s compositing “Say It Loud –I’m Black and I’m Pound part 1″ of 1968.
Listening to Curtis Mayfield’s productions of the 1960s for instance, “Keep On Pushing” and “People Get Ready” reminds me to be always ready and never stop working for whatever I want. The songs are like energy activators to the soul; they motivate the soul whenever I feel lonely and tired (Dinesh et al., 2018). Listening to soul music provides me with an environment and urge to continue doing whatever I was doing. The songs have a direct emotional impact on my cognitive and conscious states; they make me feel attached to whatever I was doing.
The soul music style also presents pride in all whatever I have, own, and who I am. Listening to the make me feel proud of my ethnic colour, the area I come from and all whatever is around me. The songs are a source of inspiration to me, and it helps in boosting confidence like the black used to chant in the 1960s recognizing them and inspiring them to be proud of their colour and ethnic race. Today I also use songs to build and to improve my confidence. Confidence is emotional feeling a form of arousal that makes one feel fearless and ready to face anything.
The songs are gospel-like, and they can be part of the praise and worship program, thus helping me to know the value of being prayerful and help me train how to play the church instruments. The soul song production uses some of the church instruments to achieve its rhythms and melodies. Therefore listening to soul music helps me understand how some of the tools used and practice how to play them.
Soul songs are good stress managers and relievers whenever I am facing problems. They help me get relieved from overthinking and reduce the level of stress. I listen to them and even dance to reduce stress and minimize any chances of getting depressed. Their rhythm and tempo are very soul touching, and they easily divert my attention whenever I hear the songs playing. They also encourage us at times of frustrations, inability to control and deal with failures and
from within.
