To what extent is the federal government in Washington, DC, the state government, and responsible for the welfare and security of the individual?
Federal government based on Washington DC, have an ethical responsibility for ensuring the safety of Americans at home and abroad concerning their welfare and security and where individual need assistance they are accountable in protecting and facilitating in their day to day wellbeing. Through the cabinet secretaries’ policies are made to run the government and especially in times of war, natural disasters and pandemic like COVID-19, Tornados. The government through its agencies like Centre For Disease Control (CDC) and homeland security advice and steer the public towards solutions ensuring their safety, therefore, having an ethical and constitutional mandate.
States governments in the US have a similar responsibility since like the federal they an elected official, although they have limited as compared to the federal government at times, they have different roles that guide them to protect their unique citizens. Therefore, having an ethical-moral responsibility using different departments and commissions to ensure the welfare and security of American. During disaster and pandemic like COVID-19.
