TOPIC DISCUSSION POST
The first phase is to discover the challenges that affect the mental health of the children. The children’s services should integrate innovation into their system to facilitate the increase of knowledge. This additional knowledge helps the child services organizations have a broader source of information about practices and strategies to enhance children’s mental health. For innovation implementation, adequate funding remains critical. These sources can be the government, society, private and professional organizations. The realized funds need to be directed in setting up offices for evidence-based practices to act as a resource bank for the welfare organizations. Reforms in the education sector also play an essential role in improving the mental health of the children. For example, the educational changes proposed in April of 2008 targeted integrating evidence-based mental health into social work education.
Different organizations from research facilities, the government, and private organizations play essential roles in ensuring children’s mental health continues to improve. For effective implementation of interventions, specific steps have to be upheld. For instance, there should be adequate funding to ensure the creation of research facilities and the introduction of innovative techniques. The government should also create reforms in the education sector, while private organizations should also pitch in and help out in creating innovations, funding, and sharing their knowledge.
This technology has presented an easy way of organizing work documents through the use of computers and smartphones to ensure no mix-ups and loss of information. The internet has also facilitated the ease of accessing and receiving information and conducting research. Social media provides platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and YouTube, among others, by which social workers can reach their clients remotely.
The experience I have with technology ranges from heightened efficiency, accessibility, and cost-effectiveness. Tools such as Facebook and WhatsApp assist social workers in conducting counseling and receiving information about their clients (individually or as a group) on time. These applications can be accessed either by computer or a smartphone, thus making it extremely easy to use them. In addition to the ease of availability, the tools are extremely simple to use no additional information is needed to use them.
Messages by social workers can also be sent as videos. Videos are easily created either by using smartphone cameras or video recorders. After recording, they are uploaded to social media platforms. The videos are easier for the audience to understand since they can check them several times.
