1.0 Introduction
Efroh Corporation is a consultancy, outsourcing and technological company which currently has more than 650 professional employees working both on the international and national projects (http://efroh.com/). Efroh Corporation has Consulting offices across the world not only in the United States of America but also in countries like Spain, Colombia, and Mexico. This has made it easy for Efroh Corporation to manage its local and international projects and also to achieve its objectives which is to develop and provide quality assurance for both the customers or citizens and government by developing a better management process that can correct, and improve the quality of their services, products and the work environment for its employees in order to be competitive in the market.
Efroh Corporation is also using logistic technology and strategies in routing deliveries to its customers, which is like a military function. The delivery process has been made easy because Efroh Corporation is using data science and machines to ensure efficiency in their services. Moreover, data science and machines can link the company with its clients, and the local providers. This has cut the cost and time for deliveries.
This report shall, therefore, discuss the steps which are required to successfully implement or apply Total Quality Management (TQM) principles and tools in Efroh Corporation. These tools and principles of TQM shall be discussed and assessed based on how Efroh Corporation can use or apply them to improve its customer satisfaction and also in lowering their management costs. Additionally, the TQM principles and tools shall be applied with limits to prevent any harm to the general corporate society and the community.
1.1 Purpose of this Total Quality Management Plan
The purpose of this TQM plan report is to shed light on the way TQM can be incorporated into the corporate culture of Efroh Company in different aspects. This does not differ totally with the TQM philosophy that says organizations should strive and define various techniques for improving the quality of their services and products. According to Mukhopadhyay (2020), TQM should be a continuous process in every organization that should never cease. This is because demand, tastes and preferences of consumers for different services and products do change with time. Therefore, Efroh Company should not only strategize on the quality improvement techniques but also, they should work on the methodologies that will exceed the expectations of their customers in the near future. Furthermore, this TQM plan shall outline various aspects and approaches that Efroh Corporation can implement in order to improve the relationship amongst employees, and between the company and the customers.
1.2 Quality Management Plan Components
A Quality Management Plan is a component of a project which ensures all the requirements in project management are fully met (Nowotarski, Pasławski,& Kadler, 2018). A Quality Management Plan is important because it acts as a marking scheme for all projects. That is, it ensures projects meet the quality expectations of the stakeholders. The Quality Management Plan Components according to this report are quality planning, quality assurance, quality control and continuous improvement.
Quality Control
Quality Control helps in inspecting, testing and measurement of project standards to ensure projects conform to the set specifications. The Quality Control techniques may vary depending on the type of the project. For instance, the case of Efroh Corporation, Quality Control can be used in hiring excellent and highly skilled employees. Also, it helps in monitoring the organizational charts and records to determine whether the company is making profits or losses. Some of the tools that can be used by organizations such as Efroh Corporation to inspect data are histogram, scatter charts, control charts, run charts, Pareto charts and cause and effect graphical techniques.
Quality Planning
Quality Planning is essential because it guides the organizational stakeholders on how the TQM plan should be outlined in the project. Aspects of Quality Planning which are essential for Efroh Corporation are the expectations of stakeholders, the success criteria of the organization, roles and responsibilities for quality production, the project assurance techniques and the quality control measures.
Quality Assurance
Quality Assurance in project management involves auditing the requirements of the quality control measurements to ensure that the right standards and definitions are used in the project. Moreover, Quality Assurance helps in the analysis and inspection of different responsibilities within an organization to maximize the production uptime. This ensures other components such as control and planning are managed properly according to corporate standards and expectations of the project (Nowotarski, Pasławski & Kadler, 2018). Additionally, Quality Assurance works with questions like;
- How is quality being measured?
- How will quality be measured?
- When will the quality be measured?
- The rejection criteria?
Quality Assurance also performs the functions of auditors. This majorly targets the production process to determine whether the improvements set are right for the company. Some of these auditing tasks include,
- Identification of different gaps
- Comparing the production processes
- Recommending necessary actions that can raise productivity
Continuous Improvement
Continuous Improvement provides an opportunity for the management team to conduct a continual systematic approach in the organization to ensure organizations adhere to the aspects of the quality improvement as per the TQM plan (Nowotarski, Pasławski & Kadler, 2018). Furthermore, a continual systematic approach is also helping organizations to create steady growth and improvements techniques which are also essential in the identification of root cause of problems within the company. This will not only help organizations such as Efroh Corporation to learn from its previous projects failures but also give them skills on how to prevent further project failures.
1.3 Quality Management Strategy
The main function of the Quality Management Strategy to identify the root cause of quality management problems, and correct them before they become difficult to handle. The four quality management strategies that Efroh Corporation must consider from this report are customer focus and satisfaction, employee empowerment and involvement, managerial leadership from the top management, and process improvement and service control. According to Goetsch & Davis (2014), serious and focus organizations should have techniques that they can use to identify their customers. These should be based on the needs of their customers and organizational activities like marketing and production. Similarly, Efroh Corporation can work on improving the needs of their customers by first identifying and meeting their wants fully. The success of any company lies heavily on the hand of customers. Moreover, it is not easy for most firms to know exactly what their customers want because tastes and preference do differ from one customer to the other. Therefore Efroh Corporation needs to incorporate an innovative culture and habits to deal with the changing tastes of customers. This will not only help Efroh Corporation to be competitive in the market with unbeatable rates but also protect their customers. Additionally, Efroh can gather information from customers by conducting market surveys and customer interviews. Gathering information will also create price and value advantage above their competitors.
