According to Kilbourne, advertisements are meant to make females beautiful, and women who strive to achieve this beauty in adverts, end up failing. The following reasons explain why she subscribes to this assertation. Advertisements keep women informed about how they are beautiful and keep the consumers surrounded by a woman’s beauty. The perfectness portrayed in these adverts is not achievable because it is created through computer modifications, cosmetics, and airbrushing. From the trailer, adverts make their brand of beauty challenging to achieve through photoshopping photographs.

Advertisements objectify women. Kilbourne gives the consequences of objectifying women through advertising channels, which includes creating an environment in which the feminine gender is handled with extreme violence. Also, there have been increased cosmetic procedures that have highly altered the shape and posture of women to suit as adverts figures. Women’s bodies have been highly examined and criticized by advertisements consumers. I agree with Kilbournne’s observations that the feminine gender has been objectified in advertisements, and that gender has suffered adverse consequences. Images used in advertisements are not far different from those found in pornographic films, which trigger violence against women, such as rape due to too much exposure of their bodies, especially the breasts in making the advertisements.

Women should be protected from inappropriate messages in the advertising world through: abolish women’s objectification and strive for decency in the creation of images meant for use in advertising purposes. Advertisement companies should specifically avoid the use of nude female images in advertising.

Advertisements hawk a limited vision of normalcy and success in various ways, including exaggerative advertisements, use of false claims in adverts, us of women as sex objects in adverts, tobacco and alcohol averts, and also using unverified claims to place adverts.

The use of tobacco advertisement is against who people should be because its consumption harms people’s health.
