Unethical Business Scenarios

This situation is apparently illegal and unethical since cosmetics can lead to cancer. Any types of products that are agents of diseases are openly illegal and questionable to produce (Vitell, 2015). If the company does nothing about this issue, it will lead to more harm to the consumers who use the products. This would lead to health complications by the users, and the company could be heavily fined, or charges could be pressed against it. In my opinion, the company should determine cancer-causing elements in the products and ultimately eliminate them or substitute them with other ingredients.

It would be legal but unethical to employ someone simply because they are a friend. In this case, there are more qualified applicants; hence, it will be unfair to use the adequately performing one, simply because they are your friend. The organization would view me as unprofessional if I hired my friend since they would like to get the most qualified applicant. In this case, I would offer to the most qualified applicants, since that is what the organization code of ethics states.

From a strictly legal concept, there is nothing wrong with the request of the vice president of the beer company to reduce the drinking age to 18. The company also has the legal right to lobby the government for legislative changes that it wishes to execute (Bowie, 2017). From a legal perspective, the company would be allowed to launch such efforts; however, it would be unethical to do so when considering consequential ethics( Chatzidakis, Shaw & Allen, 2018), since the outcomes would be more adverse hence not being morally worth.

Many smaller companies are free from the minimum wage rulings but still pay the fundamental minimum wage. The cost savings that I would recommend is that that company should consider the demand and supply of workers as an essential price factor. From my viewpoint, I would suggest that paying the prevailing wage would be appropriate, since a company that pays less than the minimum wage will not be able to get as many qualified workers, hence reducing its competitive advantage.
