Further research 300
Although the interviews and case study analyses were conducted, there are many areas to which further research and analysis need to be carried on. It is, therefore, essential to examine how social media channels are used through time and its impact on the organization. There are several theories, among which critical system theory could be used for future research to which the findings in terms of the interaction between social media and open innovation will be examined in detail (Hajli 2014). The conclusions of the research considered representative samples based on interviews; however, there are alternative solutions to which it is supposed to use social media and its implications in the business. The study should focus on examining the impact of social media and the way to increase open innovation in the market.
Therefore in the future, research surveys can be developed to which it will help to determine and understand the importance of using social media in a small and medium enterprise. Firms should, however, consider the support of IT companies in using social media tools to which competition pressure is higher. It is essential to emphasize the degree of social media adoption and IT-based innovations with extensive research and analysis (Dahlander & Gann 2010). There are policies and procedures that the business considers in terms of explicitly defining and finding digital collaboration with necessary steps. The information should be protected and secured uniformly to which it will ensure support and knowledge sharing attributes in future research. Considering future analysis, an organization must perceive the value of information and technology while adopting social media tools in the business.
Research question 200
The research proposal investigates the use of social media and open innovation in an organization. Social media technologies tend to support innovation in the business that helps to facilitate change in the industry. The research question that is analyzed is, How does social media interaction as an open innovation tool in the business? Has social media influenced open innovation and brought a change in the business? What is the relationship between innovation and the use of social media in an organization? Does social media impact innovation in an organization? How is organizational performance measured, does social media play an essential role in organizational development? These questions are connected with social media tools and open innovation in an organization. The outcomes of social media tools are measured, and the impact of tools such as Facebook and Twitter is measured with sales and profitability (Du, Yalcinkaya & Bstieler 2016). There are explanations and a significant focus on the methodology that will determine the use of social media in an organization.
Hypothetical research study 1600
Methodology 500
The qualitative research methodology will be used in the study to justify the research questions and consider the use of social media in an organization. The study will involve the use of social media in the business consultancy company. Therefore, the detail regarding the perception and experience of using social media in the business will be analyzed. This does not mean that only qualitative research methodology will be used in the study; a quantitative research methodology will help to focus on variance at generating the results and analysis. Moreover, if both the research methodologies will be used in the future, it will facilitate and address the research questions (Luo, Zhang & Duan 2013). Therefore, a qualitative study will allow the investigator to consider and adopt data collection. A qualitative study will allow an in-depth exploration of the respondent’s point of view and experience to set a hypothesis, analyze, and recommend from the research. It is then vital to use a sampling method to study the details where the processes are likely to occur and build ideas on the use of social media (Huang, Baptista & Galliers 2013). Therefore, both the research models, qualitative and quantitative methodology, are emotionalist and constructivist models. It will determine the opinions and behaviors of individuals while collecting data.
The characteristic of qualitative research is to collect data with the help of several methods such as observational, case analysis, and interviews. The data is obtained from questions asked by the participants. The participants of the research provide the best answers that satisfy open-ended and close-ended questions with the help of questionnaires and surveys. While determining the importance of qualitative research methodology, the concepts, meaning, and description is clear that gives less stress to numbers and figures. By conducting the research analysis, the detail regarding how and why things happen can be easily derived. Therefore this method will be useful to consider the significant critique of how does social media impacts open innovation in the organization? The potential analysis regarding the interaction between social media and creative ideas in the business will be linked while using this method (Kaplan & Haenlein 2010). However, this research methodology will play a crucial role in analyzing the data.
The quantitative research methodology will be used with a descriptive study that will help to analyze the connection between the dependent and independent variables. Quantitative research majorly deals with logic, number, and objective stance. However, it will help to ensure convergent reasoning in a free flow manner (Barlatier & Josserand 2018). The characteristics of the research determine the data that is gathered with the help of structured research instruments; results are measured based on larger sample size, the study is usually repeated to ensure high reliability and data is collected in numbers and statistics. Moreover, graphs, figures, and tables are prepared to collect, analyze, and investigate the results. There are computer software tools that are used to collect and analyze the data to which helps to classify the results in a constructed statistical model (Wynn & Williams 2012). In conducting the study, the results must be measured with a mathematical treatment to which the research problems will be solved by investigating and interpreting results. It is essential to ensure the actual analysis of the data and to handle the missing data that undermines the validity of the research. A statistical procedure is considered concerning the computer programs used in quantitative research methodology.
Details of participants 300
In the research study, there will be 20 participants in the face to face interview. The participants in a discussion will be several questions to which the data will be collected and reviewed on a later stage. In a meeting of 10 minutes for each participant, the use of social media will be asked to which the participant will provide their experience of using social media tools and techniques in the organization and ensure the results of open innovation. Of 20 participants who are working in a large organization, there are 15 male and five female participants from the marketing department. The detail regarding how the company operates its marketing and sales area and which social media tool is used to provide awareness and knowledge sharing of products and services will be asked in an interview. The sample will be recruited on a random sampling method to which it will ensure an equal probability for respondents to be chosen. A random sampling method is, therefore, called an unbiased approach in terms of considering the total population. A descriptive analysis method will be used, which will help to simplify large companies’ data. There will be three companies to which the research study will be taken, and accordingly, the data will be collected. A descriptive analysis method will ensure conducting statistical analysis of the three companies and provide an idea of the distribution of data that detects and enables the associations of variables in doing further research. The data will be available with the help of case analysis and represent in graphical form while ensuring a summary approach and using analysis of the data. A crucial step to ensure the chance of making decisions and consider the systematic review of data will be presented in the research analysis.
Description of materials 400
The interviews and surveys will be conducted in the research while specifying the data. The questions that will be used in an interview will primarily focus on the use of social media tools for open innovation in an organization. The participants will provide detailed knowledge and consider the importance of meetings that will help in further research analysis. The interviewer will ask several questions regarding what are the social media tools that the companies use? To what extent do the tools and technologies influence innovation in the organization. The interviewee will provide the best knowledge about the use of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter that the organization uses. However, the data that is updated by the organization will be provided to which an interviewer will be able to analyze the impact of data and calculate the sales and profitability index of an organization (Aral, Dellarocas & Godes 2013). Face to face interviews are time-consuming, but it provides detail regarding the questions with an open communication approach.
The detailed description and elicit information will be collected in the research to which brief questions and answers will help the interviewer to connect with the participant and collect raw data that will be helpful in research. A semi-structured interview will provide items and explore several areas that will allow the interviewer to collect the data to ensure a detailed response. Semi-structured interviews are thoughtful and provide subsequent data with the significance of peer pressure by interviewers (Gibbs, Rozaidi & Eisenberg 2013). A follow-up questioning technique is an interesting response that has emerged with predetermined questions by interviewers. The views and experiences of participants in the interview are explored to specific matters. Then these are discussed and are believed to be understanding the importance of social media in an organization. Sensitive topics will be discussed while exploring the impact of social media, the benefits and limitations of social media in an organization.
Data analysis 200
Qualitative research analysis and quantitative research analysis will be used in the research. Qualitative data analysis seeks to collect the information and analyze it with different sources. The primary impressions of considering research questions can emerge with the process and ensure descriptive details. A descriptive analysis method will be used that will provide descriptive information (Wynn & Williams, 2012). The report mainly consists of documents, surveys, and data. The interview collected in the process will be analyzed with the data in a systematic way to which data analysis is typically revolved with an impression of collecting and analyzing data to measure the final results (Agnihotri, Dingus, Hu & Krush 2016). However, the participants will be active in the interview and provide data with the critical aspects of delivering emerging trends and information related to essential matters. In terms of qualitative data analysis, significant attention is to focus on the context and consistency of data with an emerging trend. The components of data analysis are to focus on reducing the data while considering qualitative data analysis. A pre-defined framework will be used in the data, which will reflect the objectives, time, and interest of the interviewer to collect the data. There are policies and programmatic research that will be considered in data analysis.
Ethical issues 200
The ethical issues are vital to be considered in the research analysis. The participants in the research are voluntary and are not forced to provide the crucial information of the company (Wynn & Williams 2012). Voluntary participation signifies the ethical standards that will be considered in the research study. The legal procedures will be considered, and the research will not harm any individual or society at large (Kiron, Palmer, Philips & Kruschwitz 2012). This means that significant importance and data analysis techniques will be in line with ethical standards. The professional ethics will be focused on research analysis to which the data collected will provide a significant impact on the research study. Professional ethics and values of collecting data with alignment will ensure that the data will be analyzed while taking significant consideration undertaking proper research methods.
Employment relationships will be considered in the research, which will provide a particular interest taken in the study for an only research study. There will be economic benefits from the analysis as the work will embark and deliver value to the community and stakeholders. The researcher will pay attention to the ethical issues and focus on an interview in terms of considering human interaction (MacKay & Chia 2013). The researcher will focus on ideas and thoughts of researching the community. However, the information that is collected will be kept with the confidentiality and privacy of employees and the organization. The transcripts that will be used in the research will be confidential as per the expert advice, which will satisfy the ethical issues of the study.
Conclusion
A research proposal was prepared that will satisfy the research questions while analyzing the data focused on qualitative and quantitative research methods. The research proposal consisted of research objectives presented instead of the research question and hypothesis. In terms of the research question, interaction of social media and innovation in an organization contributes to the success of a business. Social media can highly support organizational development by improving the innovation process to which corporate objectives are satisfied.
