Vision of Nursing

Nursing practice is a broad sector that promotes health, ensures disease prevention, coordinates care, cures diseases, and sensitizes the public to prevent different illnesses. As much as nursing is one of the essential parts of giving healthcare services in the United States, the sector faces many challenges. First, nursing is not as diversified as it is supposed to be concerning race, ethnicity, gender and age. Most medical practitioners require to be more educated to suit new roles that come up in the profession. Any healthcare system should have nurses who can deliver the best care that is patient-centered, easy to access, evidence-based and suitable for the community.

Nursing’s future entails roles, responsibilities and education given to nurses to change the health care field that is flooded with demand for quality health care and ensure that many reforms are made in the facilities. In the recent past, many improvements have been observed in America’s health system(Grossman & Valiga, 2016). Some of the changes are implementing health regulations and funding nursing practices, improvement in patient outcomes and expansion of nursing roles.  For nursing’s future to be greater, nurses should ensure they learn in high-level institution centers and train to improve the education system’s education system. Nurses should fully collaborate with physicians and other health professionals to change the face of health care facilities in the United States. The use of technology will also improve the medical sector because nurses will easily retrieve information from the hospital databases and will have access to EHR using their mobile phones. The use of technology will help in reducing the errors experienced in medication and diagnosis of diseases. Another primary goal is to ensure that nursing’s role is reconceptualized within the workers’ context, advanced technology, current issues, and shortage of nurses. Examining innovative solutions and are related to care delivery and health professionals’ learning mainly focuses on nursing services and delivery. The expansion of nursing faculty is essential; this ensures the number of nursing schools is increased, and a nursing education redesign to ensure that expertise nurses are produced. A country needs to produce well-prepared health practitioners who can cater for the demands of future healthcare issues.

Leadership-related competencies need to be part of the education offered to the nurses. Nurses should build a culture that promotes leadership skills at all levels so that nurses can have the virtue of taking responsibility at any level(Grossman & Valiga, 2016). Nurses should be mentors and create partnerships outside the health care environment. Health practitioners should be actively involved in committees and boards that decide on various policies on health issues. (IOM) the Institute of Medicine is leading the future nursing change and ensuring that it observes the workforce keenly. The organization’s principal aim is to improve patient outcomes and the health sector(National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, 2016). The organization examines the workforce to ensure that all nurses receive education and training to the fullest extent; nurses’ education system should be seamless and encourage collaboration between nurses and other medical practitioners. IOM, the goal is to ensure that the nursing workforce is significant and involved in policymaking, data collection, and information infrastructure.

As a nurse, I am committed to deliver quality services to the community and ensure that I receive the best education that equips me to be a better healthcare giver. I am ensuring that my team and I obey the government’s policies and rules to ensure that nursing’s future is bigger and better. The collaboration of nurses and other groups will lead to a transformation in the healthcare system and quality care accessible by all citizens. The power to change all the nursing conditions will create a better future for the health care system.
