War of Vietnam and American

Introduction

There have been social problems in the social system or affecting two countries which are Vietnam and American. The issue I want to talk about is among the most controversial issues which are currently confronting our country now, America. The problem I am going to talk about is why I am opposed to war between our nation, America and Vietnam. I need to clarify that I see this conflict as a futile, unjust, and evil war. My conscience leaves me with no alternative other than addressing the war in Vietnam. It is now the excellent moment that Americans must bear the fact about the terrible war. Most nations are deceived about themselves, and that is why in international conflicts, it is difficult for the truth to come by. And therefore I chose to talk about war in Vietnam because I know that the hottest hell places are set for those who maintain neutrality in the periods of social crisis and because at some points silence is betrayal.

The historical roots of the Vietnam War and the communities impacted by this war

I would like to clarify the historical roots of this war and the communities which were most impacted. Let me say that, the more in-depth story about this war is that for men, even when pressed by inner truth, they do not take the move of opposing the policies of their governments like for instance in this war. The Vietnam War was very long, costly and also divisive conflict between North Vietnam and South Vietnam and even its vital ally United States. Vietnam, which is a country in Southeast of Asia on edge eastern of the Peninsula in Indonesia, had been under the rule of French colonial from the 19th century. While World War 2 was ongoing, Vietnam was invented by forces from Japan. This war was catalyzed by the continuing cold war between the Soviet Union and the United States. Some countries which were significantly impacted by the war are the Vietnamese and Americans. Political leader Ho Chi Minh was inspired by Chinese and Soviet communism to fight both Japanese occupants, and French colonial administration created Viet Minh, which was the league for the independence for Vietnam. Due to the defeat in 1945 in World War 2, forces from Japan were withdrawn, leaving the educated French emperor Dai-Bao in power. Ho’s Viet Minh rose when it saw an opportunity to seize control and took over the northern part of Hanoi and making it the Democratic Republic of Vietnam with president Ho. To regain control of the region, France backed Emperor Bao and established the state of Vietnam in 1949, July City of Saigon became its capital (Fairclough, 45). These sides sought for a similar thing which was a unified Vietnam though Ho, together with his followers, needed a country modelled after other communist nations. Bao and others needed Vietnam to have close relationships in culture and economical with the West.

Impacts of Vietnam War in Societies

I would like to address the social impacts that the war had, therefore, am addressing either Hanoi, neither Bao nor any of their supporters but am addressing my fellow Americans. They bore the most significant responsibility and got into a war that has exacted a considerable price on both Vietnamese and Americans. I must put it clear that the Vietnam War had a lot of impacts on the societies and mostly to Vietnamese citizens.  I would like to state that, this conflict caused a lot of disputes in the United States; I also know that, there were a vast number of Vietnamese residents who lost their lives during this period of war, millions of others being left with injuries and disabilities. I am aware that most survivors of that war have up to date experienced fatal economic, social and economic problems which were triggered by the war in their nation. I would still like to say that, the birth rates in defects is highest in the regions of Vietnam nations as there were explosive compounds used which contained a lot of harmful gases which when inhaled may result to genetic issues for a more extended period. There are thousands of victims of toxic components or dioxin, particularly in Vietnam. On the side of the environment, half of so known to be rain forests were destructed severely, from the sources it is evident that the United States set about 45,200 tons or seventy-five million litres of toxic components in South of Vietnam. The United States destructed environmentally is now recognized as ecocide.  Again I have to say that the so-called unitization policy almost ruined all the North and South Vietnam infrastructures. The Vietnam War had had a lot of social impacts, mostly in the Vietnam region.

Ideological obstacles that restrict the societies from solving the issue of Vietnam versus American war

I must address that the Vietnamese must see the Americans as strange liberators. It has been long since the Vietnamese always perceive Americans are their destructive enemies. So many decades have passed, and it appears we are still in a constant war with Vietnamese. They view Americans as people created to cause conflict and destroy their lives, and this has prevented societies from reaching into a permanent solution about the war between Americans and Vietnamese. The Vietnamese have to view us as liberators. Vietnam proclaimed their independence in the year 1954, but in 1945, after a combined Japanese and also French occupation and before the revolution in China when Ho Chi Minh ruled them. Although Vietnamese quoted the American declaration of their independence in a document of liberation, we Americans denied recognizing Vietnamese. This was one of the most significant ideological obstacles which have prevented societies from solving the problem of the Vietnam war because instead, we chose to help French in its conquering of her former colony. The government of our own perceived that Vietnamese citizens were not settled for their independence, and that made us again become victims to the horrific Western arrogance that has ruined the international relationships for so long between the two participants.

Having made that tragic decision to support the French, we denied a revolutionary government that had been set not by China, where the Vietnamese have no love but forced by the indigenous forces that involved various communists. For almost nine years now, I can see we have rejected the people of Vietnam their right to independence. I say this because we have a heart fully supported the French in their abortive energies to colonize Vietnam again. The government might have thought we were benefiting, but actually, we were supporting French by meeting almost eighty per cent of their war costs. This was a big obstacle that we were not capable of ending the war instead. We catalyzed it. Again I won’t forget when the French were defeated at Dien Bien as they started to despair of their reckless action yet we did not. Instead of despair, our actions to we supported the French by giving them substantial financial and military reinforcements keep up with the war even though they had lost the will. We never realized that soon we might be paying the full cost of the war at re-colonization. Again, once France was defeated, it appeared as if independence and land reform would be revealed back through the Geneva Agreement but still our nation, United States appeared aiming that Ho must not succeed in uniting the two divided countries. I watched that our society is supporting the most vicious current dictators who were our chosen man, Premier Diem. This modern dictator even ruthlessly destroyed out all the opposition and went to the extent of denying talking about the reunification with North Vietnam. Citizens of Vietnam witnessed all this as was done by our nation troops sending to quell the insurgency that Premier methods had established.

What could ethical principles help overcome war between America and Vietnam?

I would also like to discuss the ethical issues that could help solve the conflict issue in the two nations. I would like to talk about the first principle, which is the principle of last resort. This principle which can be used to solve the conflicts between two nations, parties or cities when there is no other alternative. Since some other methods of resolving disputes were not successful like the dialogue between the two countries. This principle of last resort involves fighting, and it is approved to be very ethical in areas where there is no other way to solve the war problem.

Another ethical principle to solving the above problem is by respecting the ideological differences. For the United States and Vietnam, they should involve recognizing each other’s difference in ideas. This is one of the most useful principles that can help overcome war between two nations. None of the participants in the war tried to respect the ideological differences of the other. If that should have used this principle, there should be no war between them. Those ruthless leaders should be impeached because they promote illegal. For instance, people like Bao should be impeached and have such leaders who can promote peaceful coexistence among the two nations. It is the responsibility of citizens of a country to practice control over their leaders who attempt to undertake unethical actions like the case of United States promoting or supporting French army with finances and also military support to help them win the war between them and Vietnam. Therefore, impeaching them is one of the ethical principles that could be used to solve the conflict between the United States and Vietnam. The last moral principle that could be used to solve the problem of War between the United States and Vietnam is the rise of the people and demand for their government to adhere to the constitution and cut off the funding for the war. Am very particular about these principles and am sure they can help prevent this war we have experienced the implications over many decades.

How did Vietnam and Americans act to solve the war?

The two countries have portrayed some various ways in which they aim to solve the problem. For instance, Americans have been guided by some ethical principles like the protests to resolve the war. People are highly protesting against crimes and impacts of the conflicts which they have encountered for so many decades. People are also exercising their control over their leaders so that they can impeach particularly those who try to facilitate this conflict. I am sure about how other layers are working tirelessly to ensure that no further funding for the war. They are working to ensure that the government spends its revenues on essential issues like poverty management.

Which actions are taken by groups involved in war?

Some groups like South Vietnam have undertaken protests to enhance them win the battle. Although demonstrations are considered as ethical ways to solve conflicts, they have not shown effectiveness in this region. They have also responded by the action of fighting back Americans. This has been observed as the principle of last resort where they have no more steps they take towards solving conflicts. These are all collective efforts towards resolving the conflict. In America, they have taken almost similar actions as they have involved in protesting and ensuring that the constitution is adhered to.

Which solutions might Americans and Vietnamese implement?

In Vietnam, they have seen the solution to end the war as fighting back. They have never given up in the fighting, they overcome the French, and they are fighting back the Americans. This is the solution they implemented. It is evident in America that some citizens have now realized the implications of war and hence gave in protests as the only solution to end this conflict.

Why readers have to be concerned with this problem?

For the leaders, I think they should be concerned with this problem because it is not just a war but an evil war as I mentioned earlier in my essay. I would advise this, taking concern on this matter is very crucial particularly to the American citizens who am addressing, this is because if we continue to hide and pretend that we don’t see the war as an issue, we will be betraying our generation. You American needs to try to respond to this to stop many deaths of innocent souls, deaths of people who did not wrong us in any way.  The government has also spent a lot on the war instead of focusing on important issues like poverty which is a big problem for those who were impacted by the war. Our government used so much money to destroy one Vietnamese army officer than it spends on two or three people living under miserable conditions of poverty. It is regrettable for our government to recruit more troops just for them to be taken in Vietnam and lose their lives. I think this is a kind of irresponsibility in our society.

Why should readers give efforts to solve the problem?

People should vigorously participate in solving this issue of war between Vietnam and Americans. They should offer the most support to help solve these issues. This is because their support will raise concern even to the government. It will be clear proof that they do not support the actions of the government. It will be a symbol of unification and resistance to illegality. Their support will help mitigate more deaths of Vietnamese and the Americans. I know if the Americans support the solutions to this terrible war, we will be able to establish a pleasant international atmosphere with other nations involved in the war. We will have peaceful coexistence with them, and they will view us their friends since they have always seen us as triggers of conflicts and other social problems in their land.

Ways in which readers can be involved in solving this problem?

Finally, I would like to mention that there are various ways through which we might be involved in solving the problem of war between Americans and Vietnamese. We have the option of participating in protests all over the American States. This would be very effective as the government will see its illegality actions have been turned against by the whole nation. This is a good strategy that will make them seize their actions. Again, citizens of America may also monitor their leaders and impeach those who support illegalities like this conflict between American and Vietnam. Citizens are always given power by the constitution to monitor and control their leaders through actions which they take, their kind of leadership, the implication of their policies in the society and every other social problem they cause. If a leader portrays one of these attributes, then definitely it is the role of the citizens to impeach that leader.

Citizens may also get involved in solving this issue by giving full support to the setup of the international court of criminals. This will ensure that all the leaders who commit illegal activities or organize for ruthless wars are tried and held accountable by the global war. In this way, most of the communists who facilitated the conflict will be at risk of committing any more egregious war crime.
