Which of the multiple intelligences on Gardner’s list are your strongest?
Strongest multiple intelligences on the Gardner’s list is the verbal linguistic learning style. This is because it helps the instructors and teachers to adjust their style of teaching so that different learners’ needs should be met.
Imagine that you are a teacher of a student very much like you. What activities and approaches would you use for this student?
Activities to use in this student are writing, reading, public speaking or debating, journal keeping, and tutoring. This is because they are good listeners and express themselves well. Verbal linguistic person has a memory which is well-developed for grasping what they read and remembers information spoken (Covey slide 7 to 10).
The best approach to a verbal linguistic learner is through reading and writing techniques. As a teacher, the best recommendation is finding a ways to incorporate more writing and speaking skills to the student. For instance, talk to the student through simulator procedures for example using recordings content for repetition (Covey slide 12). Another approach is using word based approach for example the scripting and assertions. It is by using rhythm and rhyme in the students assertion that will make the student effective in the school work.
Another approach to the students is the use of mnemonics so as to help them remember the information list. Mnemonics which involves acronyms uses words and focuses on the first letter of the words to come up with another sequence which is memorable. Items can also be used in mnemonics to jog the student’s memory to remember. The final approach is using scripting. The scripting has different ways of storage like in writing and recording busing mp3 player and uses it later for reviews (Sequencing and organizing slide 5)
