The question of why I am here is still a concern to many individuals who are trying to find their purpose and worth. There are different perspectives on answering this question. For instance, one can base their arguments from a religious perspective. For those who believe in the existence of God, they are somehow convinced they got a purpose on earth. However, for some atheists, they are forced to turn to science to provide answers and justification of their existence. Science, in this case, answers only how you were put on earth but not why you exist (purpose).
The reason why you exist today, unlike having you not live, is because your parents decide to have you, and you have overcome death. It is, therefore, not the responsibility of science to inform you of your purpose since others decided to have you born. The decision-makers of having you exist are aware of your purpose. In some instances, parents could have chosen to have you born to take the responsibility of providing them with care at old age.
For the cases of individuals who are born out of unwanted pregnancies, they lacked a purpose and worth at the start since their making was unplanned. However, children of unplanned pregnancies and who are forming a large portion of the population today can be given a purpose even after their creation.
Individuals can as well create their purpose on earth. In nature, most human beings are self-driven, and their experiences in the course of their upbringing can change their already established purpose. For instance, parents who bare their kid with them purpose of having him or her take care of them at old age and in the course of upbringing they abuse the child; the child can repurpose his or her life and opt to run away from home.
