Why it’s called First Love
The first time they caught your attention, it’s the first time they made you smile, the first time they said Hi, the first time they borrowed your contacts, the first time they hugged you. It’s the first time it hits you that you can love someone the way you watch in movies and read in novels. It’s the first time you realize that another person can feel the same thing you feel about them hence you get attached and allow them in, trusting they will protect your heart. Everyone has the first person that gave them that romantic experience. That first person who introduced them to romantic affection is the one referred to as first love.
When we think about our first love, there are mixed emotions that cross our minds and are hard to explain. Many people upon hearing the word first love will recall the most painful experience they have ever gone through. That pain that hurt very much and cut very deep from that one person they could not get out of their mind. Most girls will remember how they cried to sleep as a result of their hearts being shattered into pieces and boys how frustrated they felt after it failed.
First love was and remains special the entire life of a person. This is because it was innocent and very pure something that cannot be replicated to any other relationship. It is the most intense affection individuals have on their partners and for most people, it is the only time they genuinely and truly fall in love.
According to science, when it comes to love issues, men and women are very different. Women can get over their first loves and move on faster compared to men. Men seem to dwell in it longer and are unable to forget, they recall every tiny detail and will keep on comparing their current to their first loves and once they are over them, they will never forget.
Generally, first love lasts long because when you fall in love you give your whole heart to them, but you will never get all of it back, some part is left with them. Fortunately, some people marry their first loves whereas some have to kiss many other frogs before getting their kings and queens.
