Abstract

            Than ever before, there are several women employed by police agencies currently. Their workplace experiences and role have transformed distinctly from the period they were first hired as police matrons in the ancient early 1900s and late 1800s. there are several similarities between the female and male police officers, this is as revealed by a trend found in contemporary research. Since policing has been usually a male-dominated profession in the united states, this trend is interesting.

Introduction

There are several stereotypes that women are required to pass through in-law enactment area. Law enactment has to try in overcoming a saying that policing is only oriented to the male profession to employ more females into the profession (Kakati et al, 2019). This essay will cover sections of the women police officers’ history, life outside of the workforce, some stereotypes and views of the woman officer, job satisfaction, and job-related issues. In the past, only clerical, nursing, and teaching professions were open to women. A small number of women main roles were normally restricted to unimportant functions and worked as correctional officers (Kakati, 2019).

Women Police and Law Enforcement

Women are seen by their male officers as threats. Though men may look stronger and bigger women have a distinct strength and just as effective way in guarding people. Instead of the physical route, females tend to utilize more techniques and speed that males naturally have a challenge in (Joshua, et al, 2020).

Today, there is a controversy over whether the policing method of women is distinct or similar to the style of males and whether this might be beneficial or harmful to policing. Several females in policing are afraid to debate differences in methods since they have the feeling that this may force them back into the specialist positions, which often restricts an upward mobility incumbent and sometimes have considerable prestige (Ritchie, and Jones, 2017). On the other side particularly in the united states based National Center for Women and Policing, a feminist group which is sponsored by the Feminist Majority (Kringen, 2019). This an activist feminist group in the United States which feel that the divergence for women is merit. Thus they have the believe the women are perhaps appropriate and can even operate more best than males in many of the areas of police activity. Policewomen are perhaps appropriate according to this view for dealing with migrants in prostitution, dealing with trafficking in women within the larger cities, and operating for police service prostitution groups (Kringen, 2019)

They are attaining more experience in working with police groups handling juvenile and violence issues. Female police are usually more suitable for children and women who have been the subjects of men misfortunes. Young children and girls have much believed in the female. The area of crime prevention is becoming more crucial to officers’ agencies and in this female officers play a significant function. They are normally positioned to the juvenile bureau division and their functions lie in several areas (Joshua, et al, 2020).  Female police officers are very suitable at determining poor home conditions and evaluating parents who do not always interact. They also can gain the confidence of young children and in investigating if the behaviour is antisocial or normal. The policewomen employment gives the best style of determining out the real issue, explaining what the girl who runs away from home experienced and then looking for the appropriate action course to follow.

Conclusion

International research that was conducted demonstrates clearly that officers that are women are relying on the style of policing that are using little physical force, are better at de-escalating, and defusing capability violent appearances with people, and are likely-less in becoming engaged in challenges with the utilization of more force. Besides, female police are possessing usually good communication techniques than their male correspondents, and are better capable in facilitating the trust, and cooperation needed in implementing a community policing model. Police officers that are women are responding usually more appropriate to situations of crimes against females and will improve ultimately a reaction to domestic crimes (Rabe-Hemp, 2019). The policing service-oriented style has been able to reveal that; females are less likely to misconduct themselves or become angry toward people. Female police officers are being conserved at least fair to officers that are males in most police work areas (Rabe-Hemp, 2019). Moreover, the study has shown that women officers are equally able as their male counterparts when it comes to policing, and have shown that, there is no persistent distinction in the quality of their operation in street policing (Ritchie, and Jones, 2017).  Earlier research can reject the argument suggested on lack of strength physically of women. It has been found that there is no study has explained that, physical strength is relating to the capability to manage risk cases successfully.
