Working as a physical therapist
Introduction.
Being a health worker is one of the best careers one can choose in life. Health care focuses on the well-being of a human being, and it has several branches and specialization. It is fun pursuing a career in that it means one cares about human beings. It takes more than educational requirements for one to choose health care as a career. It requires passion, and sometimes it is a talent that drives one to achieve this objective. I love being a physical therapist since every patient has a different treatment mode depending on the situation of the patient. I like making things right, and this is also the role of a physical therapist, which is to rehabilitate the patient out of physical defects. In this paper, we shall review the motives that made me a physical therapist and why I would like to work as a physical therapist.
My Personality as a Physical Therapist.
I believe that my character traits fit the need of being a physical therapist in that I am cool and determined, and many patients would tend to recover slower pace, which could even last for years. Being determined helps in making sure that a patient recovers fully without losing hope. Since I love this job and it is my passion as well, then it means I love what al be doing even it would take ten years for a patient to recover. It takes more than patience for one job to be successful. I also believe that one should be committed to healthcare careers, especially when still in school. It is clear that healthcare courses are long, and I am also committed to that the job itself needs more than commitment. It is because, in the job industry, one should be able to uphold the tasks without hesitation and carry out his/her duties. Since being a physical therapist is my passion, I would find fewer or zero difficulties in carrying out my duties.
I am a social person, which perfectly fits the health care industry since communication is the key to analyze and come up with a solution to the incoming patients. If a health care worker is anti-social, then the patients would have a difficult time explaining their symptoms. It is also true to say that being social must be accompanied by the act of being caring. Most patients need to be share care, which helps make them believe that they will fully recover. I am caring since I am a human being and also perceive feelings, and this makes it easy for me to narrow down my career choices of being a physical therapist. I love building relationships with people, and this is also a factor needed in the health care industry since, as a physical therapist, one should be able to build trusted relationships with the patients to facilitate good communicating grounds. Through this, one could easily persuade and motivate a patient that he or she could recover quickly.
My Motives for Being a Physical Therapist.
Making a change in someone’s life motivates me to be a physical therapist in that the patient would always appreciate the work I did. It takes more than giving heart to a patient who believes that his/her current condition would remain permanently. It is the same reason why many patients with physical defects commit suicide since they lacked proper care and advice. I value life, and I never want a single human being to commit suicide because of the physical damage in his/her body. Changing someone’s life means a lot to both the patient and me since it makes the patient value life and believes in our treatment.
What motivated me the most is that being a physical therapist helps me avoid staying on the desk since it requires one to work practically since one is required to exercise the patient regularly. Sitting on the desk the entire day is tiresome and boring, but being a physical therapist allows me to socialize easily while performing my duty. Moving around the hospital premises makes me active, which increases my working rate since I can work past normal working hours.
As a career, physical therapists grant me a green light to be employed anywhere and grants me a chance to travel to places I have never been to. I always like adventures, and this motivated me to pursue physical therapy as a career. Physical therapists are indeed on-demand, making it easy for one to secure a job anywhere.
Conclusion.
Generally, working in the health care industry takes a lot. I could take it as a calling since not everyone can be committed as the health workers. I love the health industry since it cares most about the lives of human beings. Proper health care is a basic need for every human being since nobody would like to fall sick.
