Writing is not all about connecting phrases but rather it is making sense in the most logical manner by using the principals of grammar.
The following are set of rules that you ought to always consider when writing in deed this are constant mistakes that “pens for hire” (writers) tend to make.
I. Subject-verb agreement with a compound sentence
Use plural verb with a compound subject
I.e. Drinking a glass of milk and soaking in the tub help me to fall asleep. As you may have noticed, it should not be helps but help.
II. Use commas to separate independent clauses when they are joined by coordinating conjunction such as; and, but, for, or, nor, so, yet

To add to the above never put a comma between two verbs in a compound predicate. The rule of but does apply to the other six coordinating conjunctions. If the conjunction does precede an independent *main* clause, use a comma ie “Jesse tried a new relationship, but he still screwed it up”. If but is not followed by any independent clause no comma is needed ie “Jesse tried a new relationship but still screwed it up”.
III. Subject and predicate agreement
The most sensitive case, but unfamiliar to many. The following equation can be used to make the connection to achieve a logical sentence. Subject + predicate = sentence or Phrase + clause = logical connection
It will be progressive tutorials that I will dedicate my time to and make sure our writing is better than the ones that colonized us.
