Discrimination based on religion and nationality

In the world we are currently living today, different people go through different forms of discrimination, especially if someone is a different set up from the others. These backgrounds vary from social classes to race differences. For example, in a set up comprising people of two different races, the majority race will tend to discriminate against people of a minority race. Therefore, intersectionality refers to the concept by which one can conceptualize a person or a specific group of people based on the discrimination they are facing or the effect of social segregation on them and the life disadvantages they are facing. Also, intersectionality affirms that these oppressions and discriminations originate from several sources i.e., race, gender sexuality, etc., and the concept of intersectionality recognizes the forerunner’s efforts and their actions are backed by several others to press on the oppression.

In this document, religion and nationality are looked at in in-depth details. For a long time now, religion and nationality go hand in hand; for instance, based on the geographical location, some nations are purely based on one religion while some others are of mixed religion. For example, a country like Italy is filled by the catholic religion and Saudi Arabia on the other and is an Islamic state the Islamic religion. In a sporting establishment, especially the professional based sports franchise, e.g., a football club, it is ideal that both nations with different religious perspectives have different set up on how football sports operations are carried out.

When it comes to the Islamic states, football is only for men, and women are banned from participating and competing in such events reason being that women are capable of creating chaos between men, and it could create sexual excitement to men by participating in the sports. On the other hand, in the Christian religious countries, there is no bias on who should participate in football competitions, and there is a stipulation that both men and women can participate in football activities. Moreover, football competitions are into two categories, both men and women football competitions.

When it comes to whom can take part in these football sports and competitions, both nations with different nationality and religious backgrounds have different takes or opinions. I.e., nationality and religious affiliations of the athlete do not matter at all provided the athlete has the desired skills and the ability to improve the game in a nation with Christians as the majority population.  Contrary to this, Islamic states tend to favor athletes who are from other Islamic states to participate in football events and also put pressure on non-Islamic athletes to convert to Islam to have the upper hand in the sports. I.e., they tend to oppress non-Muslim athletes.
