The article “Why Do Learners Choose Online Learning: The Learner’s Voice” discusses the advantages and expectations of people who take online classes. Online learning has become very common over the last decade. It has also become a preferred method of studying that depends on the character of an individual and the technology available. Online learning has many advantages like its flexibility, which makes it attractive to different people. Adult learners are the primary beneficiaries of this form of learning. Because online learning gained popularity, many institutions offer it as an option for different courses globally.

The research questions used for this study, discuss the factors that affect the student’s preferences for online learning and the difference between online learning and other programs, cover the main topic of discussion. The data was collected from students from a state university participating in e-learning programs (Ilgaz & Gülbahar 2017). These programs consisted of six undergraduate degree programs and four graduate degree programs. The demographic for the study participants was quite balanced out with 55% being females, 59% being married, and 41% being in the 18-24 age gap (Ilgaz & Gülbahar 2017). After checking the responses, the learners for analysis were 944 students from the undergraduate level and 178 participants from the graduate level (Ilgaz & Gülbahar 2017). The demographics for the qualified participants are, however, not indicated.

The results collected indicated that the main reason for undergraduates to choose online classes was because they had full-time jobs, and they found these classes to be efficient. This was because of the accessibility and flexibility of online courses. The main reason for graduate students was increasing their academic ability for professional development, which also meant that they juggled work and school.
